Summary
This study tests a web-based tool that gives personalized estimates of benefits and risks of obesity treatments (like surgery or medications) to help doctors and patients with type 2 diabetes and severe obesity make informed decisions. About 10,000 adults across 40 primary care clinics will use the tool during routine visits. The goal is to see if this approach increases referrals and prescriptions for effective weight-loss options and improves weight outcomes over 18 months.
