Summary

This study is for 250 people with severe obesity who are planning weight-loss surgery. Researchers will use heart ultrasounds and blood tests to look for early signs of a type of heart failure called HFpEF, where the heart becomes stiff. The goal is to understand how obesity contributes to this condition and how weight loss may help. Participants will be followed for two years.
