Scientists probe if extra weight triggers early puberty in girls
NCT ID NCT02583646
Summary
This study aims to understand if girls with higher body weight enter puberty earlier than girls with normal weight. Researchers will use breast and pelvic ultrasounds, blood tests, and special x-rays to carefully measure puberty development in 150 healthy girls aged 8-14. The goal is to gather clearer evidence about the connection between obesity and the timing of puberty.
