Summary
This study looked at 50 adults who had emergency surgery for a belly infection (peritonitis). It compared a special vacuum dressing (NPWT) with standard wound closure to see which better prevents surgical site infections. The goal was to find a way to help wounds heal faster and with fewer complications.
