New epilepsy drug aims to quiet brain storms in absence seizures

Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called NPT 2042 in 10 people aged 16 to 75 with genetic generalized epilepsy and absence seizures. Each participant will receive both the drug and a placebo in random order, with a two-week break in between. The goal is to see if NPT 2042 can reduce how often and how long absence seizures occur, as measured by brain wave recordings.
