Heart alert: study on sharing CT scan findings to save lives
NCT ID NCT05977413
First seen Feb 10, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study was designed to see if telling patients and their doctors about calcium buildup in heart arteries (found on lung cancer CT scans) could lower the chance of death, heart attack, or stroke. It would have included adults without known heart disease who had a lung CT scan showing significant calcium. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling anyone, so no results are available.
