New Non-Invasive method could spare patients from risky heart catheterization

NCT ID NCT07453017

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study is testing a non-invasive chest monitor called electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to see if it can accurately detect pulmonary hypertension, a serious lung condition. Currently, diagnosis requires an invasive procedure called right heart catheterization. If successful, EIT could provide a safer, radiation-free way to screen and monitor patients. The study involves 120 adults with suspected or diagnosed pulmonary hypertension.
