New heart study tests Drill-and-Shockwave combo for tough artery plaques

Summary
This study compares two ways to treat hardened calcium deposits in heart arteries. One method uses a tiny drill plus shockwaves, the other uses shockwaves alone. The goal is to see which approach allows for better stent placement. About 120 adults with severe coronary artery disease will take part.
