Immunotherapy combo shows promise for rare skin cancer

NCT ID NCT03071406

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a precise type of radiation (SBRT) to a two-drug immunotherapy combination (nivolumab and ipilimumab) works better than the drugs alone for people with advanced Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive skin cancer. About 50 adults whose cancer has spread or cannot be removed are participating. The goal is to see if the combination shrinks tumors and delays cancer growth.
