First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether a low dose of nilotinib, a drug used for leukemia, is safe for people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Researchers wanted to see if it could reach the brain and affect proteins linked to Alzheimer's, like tau and amyloid. 37 participants took either nilotinib or a placebo, and the study focused on safety and changes in brain biomarkers.
