Summary

This study tests a new lab method that looks for TB DNA in fluid around the lungs (pleural effusion). The goal is to see if it can diagnose tuberculosis more accurately than current tests, helping patients avoid unnecessary procedures and get treated faster. The study will involve 400 adults with new-onset pleural effusion who are scheduled for a fluid drainage procedure.
