New scan aims to spot hidden inflammation before it causes irreversible damage

NCT ID NCT07212959

Summary

This study tested a new type of PET/CT scan to detect early, body-wide inflammation in people with systemic sclerosis (scleroderma). The goal was to see if this scan could identify active inflammation better than standard CT scans, which only show scarring. Finding inflammation early could allow doctors to intervene sooner to try to prevent permanent organ damage.
