New scan could improve detection of childhood nerve cancer
NCT ID NCT06858501
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether a new type of PET scan (18F-MFBG) can find neuroblastoma tumors as well as or better than the current standard scan (123I-MIBG). About 84 children and adults with newly diagnosed, high-risk neuroblastoma will receive both scans at different times. The goal is to see if the new scan provides clearer images of tumor locations, which could help doctors better plan treatment.
