Could a simple nipple fluid test replace surgery for breast cancer diagnosis?

NCT ID NCT07250204

Summary

This study is testing whether analyzing DNA in nipple fluid can accurately tell if bloody nipple discharge is caused by cancer or benign conditions. Researchers will collect fluid samples from 60 patients already scheduled for breast surgery, then compare their lab test results to the surgical findings. The goal is to develop a non-invasive test that could help some patients avoid unnecessary operations while still catching cancers early.
