New MRI scanner could spot ACL tears without surgery

Summary

This study tests a new type of MRI scanner that may show knee ligaments and tendons more clearly than standard MRI. Researchers will scan 20 adults who are already scheduled for ligament repair surgery to see if the new method can accurately detect ACL tears and other injuries. The goal is to improve diagnosis and reduce the need for exploratory surgery.
