Custom 3D-Printed plate tested for jaw fractures
NCT ID NCT07206134
Summary
This study tested a new, custom-designed bone plate against standard plates for repairing jaw fractures near the chin nerve. Twelve adult patients were split into two groups: one received the new 'omega' plate made using 3D printing, and the other received conventional titanium plates. Researchers compared outcomes like pain, swelling, nerve function, and healing over six months to see if the new plate worked better.
