Can a camera replace the pinch test for scleroderma patients?

NCT ID NCT05672992

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study compares a new, non-invasive imaging technique called spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI) to the standard skin pinch test for measuring skin thickness in people with scleroderma. Researchers will follow 78 participants over up to 3 years to see if SFDI can track changes in skin fibrosis more accurately. If successful, this tool could provide a faster, more objective way to monitor disease activity.
