Brain tumor breakthrough? new study combines surgery and instant radiation

NCT ID NCT07141732

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether giving a single dose of targeted radiation inside the brain right after tumor removal can improve outcomes for people with newly diagnosed glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Fifteen adults aged 40-75 will receive this intraoperative radiation plus the standard chemotherapy and radiation regimen. The goal is to see if this approach helps patients live longer and delays tumor regrowth.
