New hope for brain cancer: Immune-Boosting combo targets glioblastoma

NCT ID NCT03491683

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tests whether adding two experimental DNA vaccines (INO-5401 and INO-9012) and an immunotherapy drug (cemiplimab) to standard radiation and chemotherapy can help people with newly-diagnosed glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. The study enrolls 52 participants and primarily checks safety, while also looking at survival and immune system changes. Because glioblastoma often returns and requires ongoing management, this approach aims to control the disease rather than cure it.
