New scanner aims to match MRI for pinpointing rectal cancer spread

NCT ID NCT06965166

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of CT scanner, called a Photon-Counting Detector CT, can determine how far rectal cancer has grown as accurately as an MRI scan. About 120 adults with rectal cancer will have both scans to compare the results. The goal is to see if this new scanner can be a useful tool for doctors when planning a patient's treatment.
