Could a simple light sensor replace the blood pressure cuff?

NCT ID NCT05393401

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive device that uses light sensors on the skin to measure pulse wave velocity, which is related to artery stiffness and blood pressure. The goal is to see if this comfortable, continuous method can reliably estimate blood pressure without needing an inflating cuff. The study is recruiting 27 healthy volunteers to help validate the device's measurements against current standard equipment.
