First-Ever human trial launches for new genetic ALS treatment

Summary
This is the first study to test an experimental drug called ALN-SOD in people with a specific genetic form of ALS (SOD1-ALS). The main goal is to check if the drug is safe and tolerable when given via spinal injection. Researchers will also measure how the drug affects certain proteins in the blood and spinal fluid, and track any changes in ALS symptoms over time.
