First patients receive new experimental drug targeting genetic cause of ALS

NCT ID NCT06351592

Summary

This is the first study to test an experimental drug called ALN-SOD in people with ALS caused by a specific change in the SOD1 gene. The main goal is to check the drug's safety and how well it's tolerated when given via spinal injection. Researchers will also measure how the drug affects certain disease markers in the blood and spinal fluid, and look for any early signs of effect on ALS symptoms.
