Timing is everything: immune cell study may unlock better stroke treatments
NCT ID NCT02900833
First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at how certain immune cells (neutrophils) behave in people having a severe stroke. Researchers want to find the best time to target these cells to improve recovery and reduce bleeding in the brain. 440 adults who need emergency treatment to remove a clot will provide blood samples and have their recovery tracked. No new drug is tested; the goal is to gather information for future treatments.
