Summary
This study tested whether a natural substance called pregnenolone can help reduce depression in women going through menopause or perimenopause. 73 women took either pregnenolone or a placebo for several weeks. Researchers measured changes in mood, anxiety, thinking, and quality of life to see if the treatment worked better than placebo.
