First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study reviewed hospital records of 274 adults who had emergency surgery for a torn aorta (acute type A aortic dissection). Researchers measured how often patients had brain complications like stroke or coma, and how that affected time in the intensive care unit. The goal was to understand the link between these complications and ICU workload, without any new treatments or patient contact.
