Summary
This study aimed to create a reference set of normal nerve fiber density values in the skin of healthy adults. Researchers measured nerve fibers in skin biopsies from 300 healthy volunteers aged 20 to 80. The goal was to improve the accuracy of diagnosing small fiber neuropathy by comparing patient results to these normal values.
