New nerve block could ease Kids' pain after tonsil surgery

NCT ID NCT05208892

Summary

This study tested a nerve-block injection to help control pain in children after tonsil and adenoid removal surgery. Researchers compared the standard nerve block to one mixed with a drug called dexmedetomidine, hoping it would provide longer-lasting pain relief. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce children's pain and lower their need for opioid painkillers after the operation.
