ER doctors test quick nerve block to zap knee pain

NCT ID NCT07158736

Summary

This study is testing whether an ultrasound-guided nerve block around the knee provides better pain relief for emergency room patients compared to standard pain medications. Researchers will enroll 34 adults with sudden knee pain (not from an injury) and randomly assign them to receive either the nerve block or usual care. The main goal is to see if the nerve block reduces pain more effectively and helps patients leave the emergency department faster.
