New nerve block aims to calm Body's storm after hip surgery
NCT ID NCT07449442
Summary
This study is testing if a specific combination of nerve blocks can better control pain and reduce the body's inflammatory response after hip replacement surgery. It will involve 60 elderly patients undergoing the procedure. Researchers will compare the real nerve blocks to a sham (fake) procedure to see if they lead to less pain, lower opioid use, and reduced markers of inflammation in the blood.
