New nerve block aims to calm Body's storm after hip surgery
NCT ID NCT07449403
Summary
This study is testing if a specific nerve block, given during hip replacement surgery, can help reduce pain and lower the body's inflammatory response to the operation. It will involve 60 older adults undergoing the surgery. Researchers will compare the effects of the real nerve block to a sham (fake) procedure by measuring pain levels and blood markers of inflammation after surgery.
