New nerve block may calm Body's stress response to hip surgery

NCT ID NCT07449403

Summary

This study is testing if a specific nerve block, given during hip replacement surgery, can reduce pain and lower the body's overall inflammatory response to the operation. Researchers will compare the real nerve block to a sham (fake) procedure in 60 older adults. The main goal is to see if this pain control method helps the body recover better by reducing surgical stress.
