New nerve block aims to stop Post-Surgery confusion in seniors
NCT ID NCT07449468
Summary
This study is testing if adding a specific nerve block to standard spinal anesthesia can reduce confusion (postoperative delirium) in adults 75 and older getting a hip replacement. The nerve block targets pain around the hip joint, aiming to provide better pain relief with less opioid medication. Researchers believe better pain control and less opioid use might lower the risk of developing delirium after surgery.
