Nerve block trial offers hope for cancer treatment pain

Summary
This study is testing whether a nerve block procedure can reduce pain caused by radiation therapy in people being treated for anal cancer. Participants receive an injection near the tailbone to numb nerves during their fourth week of combined chemotherapy and radiation. The goal is to see if this helps patients complete their cancer treatment with fewer breaks due to severe pain.
