Can a blister test help solve ARDS? new study explores Drug's effect on fluid leak
NCT ID NCT05600062
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a drug called Racecadotril can reduce fluid leakage in skin blisters caused by a chemical. The blisters mimic some aspects of lung injury in ARDS, a severe condition where lungs fill with fluid. 48 healthy volunteers will receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers will measure blister fluid and inflammation markers. The goal is to gather early evidence on whether this drug could one day help ARDS patients.
