Could less be more? new trial aims to protect tiniest babies from bleeding

Summary
This study looks at whether giving platelet transfusions only when platelet levels are very low is better for extremely premature babies (born at 23-26 weeks) than giving them at a higher threshold. About 2,400 infants will be enrolled within 48 hours of birth. The goal is to see if the lower threshold helps more babies survive without major bleeding.
