First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a procedure that combines a needle to break up scar tissue with an injection of platelet-rich plasma (a concentrate from the patient's own blood) to treat stubborn heel pain from plantar fasciitis. Nineteen adults who had not improved with standard treatments like physical therapy or steroid shots took part. The goal was to see if the combination could reduce pain and be safe.
