First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 03, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving a medicated mist (dexmedetomidine) before surgery could prevent dangerous spikes in heart rate and blood pressure when placing a breathing tube in 90 obese patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery. The approach aims to make the procedure safer by reducing stress on the heart. Results may help improve care for this high-risk group.
