Laser fails to improve tooth infection healing in new study

NCT ID NCT07243353

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a special laser (Nd:YAG) during root canal treatment could reduce inflammation and stress in infected teeth. Researchers measured certain markers in fluid from the tooth and gums in 58 adults. The results showed that adding the laser did not improve outcomes compared to standard root canal treatment alone.
