New ultrasound device shows promise for Tough-to-Treat epilepsy

Summary

This study tested a device called NaviFUS™ that uses focused ultrasound to calm overactive brain areas in people with drug-resistant epilepsy. Twelve adults whose seizures were not controlled by medication received the treatment. The main goals were to check safety and see if seizures became less frequent.
