Summary
This study tests a 10-session after-school program called Native Spirit for Indigenous teens in grades 7-12. The program uses cultural activities to strengthen identity, self-esteem, and resilience, with the goal of preventing substance use. About 60 participants from two Arizona tribes will be randomly assigned to the program or a waitlist, and researchers will track their substance use and well-being over time.
