Zapping prostate cancer: new trial tests electric shock therapy
NCT ID NCT06451445
Summary
This study is testing a procedure called Irreversible Electroporation (IRE) for men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer. It uses the NanoKnife system to deliver targeted electrical pulses to kill prostate tumor cells. The main goals are to see if the treatment effectively destroys the cancer and if it causes fewer side effects, like problems with urination or sexual function, compared to standard surgery or radiation.
