Zapping prostate cancer: new trial tests electric shocks to spare men from harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT06451445

Summary

This study is testing a targeted treatment called NanoKnife for men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer. It uses electrical pulses to kill cancer cells in the prostate while trying to avoid damaging nearby healthy tissue, which could help preserve urinary and sexual function. The main goals are to see if the treatment effectively destroys the cancer and to check for any safety issues or side effects over a year of follow-up.
