First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at liver tissue from 45 adults with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to identify which fats and proteins are present and how they change as the disease gets worse. Participants are 18–65 years old and scheduled for abdominal or bariatric surgery. The goal is to better understand what drives NAFLD, not to test a treatment.
