First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at whether music therapy can protect thinking skills and wellbeing in healthy older adults and those with mild-to-moderate memory problems. Over 200 people aged 65+ took part in 5 months of music sessions, either one-on-one or in groups, and some used robotic helpers. Researchers measured changes in memory, attention, mood, and quality of life to see if music therapy works better than standard care.
