Music lessons tested as brain boost for seniors with memory loss
NCT ID NCT06866327
First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study looked at whether older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) would enjoy and stick with a 12-week music training program, either piano lessons or general music classes. Researchers wanted to see if these programs are acceptable and practical before planning a larger study to test if music can slow memory decline. Nineteen participants took part, attending weekly lessons and practicing at home.
