Can music and social support over video calls fight loneliness in seniors?
NCT ID NCT06219148
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether combining music therapy and social work support delivered through video calls could improve the well-being of older adults living at home. Researchers enrolled 20 participants in Kentucky, some with dementia and some without, to see if this telehealth approach could reduce loneliness and improve mood and cognition. The goal was to gather data to plan a larger future trial on accessible, remote support for aging populations.
