Muscle meltdown in ICU linked to higher death risk

Summary
This study watches how muscle mass changes in very sick patients on breathing machines. Researchers want to see if losing 10% or more muscle in the first week increases the chance of dying within 28 days. They will use ultrasound to measure thigh muscle size. About 386 adults from multiple hospitals will take part.
