Do weight loss drugs cause vitamin deficiencies? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07234916

Summary

This study aims to find out if people taking GLP-1 weight loss medications (like Ozempic or Wegovy) need to take multivitamins to prevent nutrient deficiencies. Researchers will compare vitamin and mineral levels in 246 adults who either take a multivitamin or a placebo pill for 12 months while continuing their medication. The goal is to provide clear evidence on whether routine vitamin supplementation is necessary for people using these popular drugs.
