NCT ID NCT04998175
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study aims to find biological markers that can predict whether a person with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) will improve after a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt surgery. Researchers will analyze spinal fluid and brain scans from 40 older adults before and after surgery, comparing those who respond well to those who do not. The goal is to better understand why some patients benefit and others do not, which could help guide treatment decisions in the future.
